Mahankal Rural Municipality in Lalitpur, also known as the "Second Karnali," suffered severe damage to its infrastructure due to heavy rainfall. Among the hardest-hit areas was Ward No. 1, Bukhel, where the local water sources and pipelines were badly affected. This damage disrupted access to clean drinking water, creating significant challenges for the community's daily life.
In response, Bighnaharta Nepal, with financial support from the Nimsdai Foundation, took action to restore the water supply. On Magh 23, we distributed 8,900 meters of drinking water pipes in various sizes (63mm, 40mm, 32mm, 25mm, and 20mm) to assist the community. This distribution was carried out with the active involvement of local representatives, ensuring that the materials reached the affected households.
Through this initiative, we aim to provide immediate relief and support the community’s efforts to rebuild their access to clean and safe drinking water, contributing to their recovery and long-term resilience.
