In our ongoing efforts to enhance the "Bio-engineering Social Enterprise for Disaster Risk Reduction and Livelihood Upliftment" project, Bighnaharta Nepal recently organized a 3-day Agriculture Skills Exchange and Tour Program tailored specifically for the farmers of Raksirang Rural Muncipality. This intiative aimed to provide participants with practical knowledge on locally led sustainable development practices.
The program started with a visit to Kauleban, Nisdi of Palpa, a community known for its successful implementation of sustainable agricultural practices. Here, 30 Chepang farmers from each ward of Raksirang Rural Muncipality had the opportunity to involve themselves in the concept of sustainable development firsthand. Through engaging discussions and interactive sessions, the participants gained a deeper understanding of the principles and methodologies focusing sustainable agriculture.
The main focus of the program was the exchange of ideas and experiences among participants, facilitated through dialogue sessions with local representative and farmers. Theere discussions included broom grass plantation techniques, disaster risk reduction strategies, and community-driven initiatives.By sharing their own experiences and learning from each other, participants were able to broaden their perspectives and gain valuable insights that could be applied within their own communities.
Moving forward, we remain committed to supporting and empowering farmers in Rakshirang Rural Municipality and beyond, as we work together towards creating a more sustainable and resilient future for all.
